Shawn McCabe

I am the Managing Partner of McCabe Gunn, CPA, PA and shareholder & Chief Compliance Officer of Gunn & Company Investment Management, Inc. I provide consultative financial and tax-planning services to individuals, businesses, retirement plans, and trusts. After serving ten years of active military service and completing a combat tour in Afghanistan, I started my career in financial planning and investments in 2007. Joining the industry at the beginning of the "Great Recession" allowed me to quickly learn that the stock market can be unpredictably cruel, and at the same time, extremely rewarding to those who stayed the course. Also, during that time, my clients and I became an invaluable part of each other's lives. They relied on me to get them through some of the worst markets in history. At the same time those experiences taught me more about life, trust, perseverance, and the undeniable need for clients to have genuine and executable plans. My ability to breakdown and simplify some of the most complex problems, along with my broad professional experience, uniquely equips me to be the perfect coach, mentor, and advisor to my clients on how to achieve and protect their tax-advantaged financial independence.

My wife (Amy) and I love to travel, stay fit, and continually learn and grow, whether through music, physical challenges like marathons and body building, or taking on the challenge of training our 2 boxer pups! We have three kids, one just graduated from University of South Florida, another finishing up at Florida State University with his eye on joining the practice (if he can pass the interview, lol), and our youngest heading off to college in a year! Yes, we are about to be empty nesters!
