Also, my parents were first-generation immigrants from Europe and although they received much well-intended advice in those first years in America, unfortunately in retrospect most of it was completely inaccurate. I have a soft spot for helping new citizens navigate the murky waters of the American tax and credit system. I noticed that most brand-new Green Card holders regardless of background, usually all have the same questions about tax filing requirements, buying a car, buying a house, starting a professional business, etc. I am happy to be your honest sounding board as you settle into the American lifestyle.
