I'm Rebecca Schug, an Enrolled Agent (EA) — licensed by the IRS to represent clients in any tax matter, at any level, with the same authority as a CPA or attorney on federal tax issues. I have over 25 years of tax preparation experience, and I founded Levelheaded Bookkeeping and Tax Services 8 years ago because too many small business owners were only hearing from their tax preparer once a year, right when it was too late to do anything but file.
Tax planning is where the real savings happen. Waiting until tax season means you're just reporting what already happened. My job is to sit down with you throughout the year and make decisions before they're locked in — timing income, structuring purchases, planning for owner pay, catching problems while there's still time to fix them.
I work with small business owners, medical practices, and nonprofits, and I bring the same approach to every client: explain what I'm recommending and why, not just hand you a plan and expect you to trust it. I'm also a QuickBooks Pro Advisor, so if you need bookkeeping alongside tax planning, that's covered too — one person who actually knows your full financial picture instead of a bookkeeper and a tax preparer who never talk to each other.
I have a small team — Kelly, Melissa, and Jen — supporting client accounts, so you're never stuck waiting on one person.
If you want a tax plan built around your actual business instead of a form you fill out once a year, let's talk.
