I have over 15 years of experience in the world of taxation, with a focus on Real Estate, Manufacturing, and service based industries. I have received my Masters of Taxation from James Madison University, and my undergrad from there as well.
I was invited into the world of taxation by "accidentally" creating a business when I was in college based around the video game "Rock Band" and had to deal with the consequences of failing to plan for the tax consequences of an excessively successful business. I have been engrossed with taxes ever since. I have worked in public accounting for over 15 years, as well as roughly 5 years of experience leading the accounting departments at various medium size (10-100 mio annual revenue) real estate and manufacturing businesses.
During my free time I am building a future short term rental on Smith Mountain Lake with the assistance of our three children. In the near future I will begin construction on our next short term rental at Bryce resort, where our son will be taking more of the reigns on the landscaping design and management.
