Hi, I'm James Donnelly, your go-to Enrolled Agent and Main Street Certified Tax Advisor based in the beautiful Hudson Valley, NY. My wife and I have two grown sons, and together, we own and operate Xinancial (pronounced Zinancial), a full-service tax and accounting solutions company. I have over 33 years of experience in tax and finance. I hold a Master's degree in Accounting and an MBA in Finance, and I've worked across multiple industries.
I'm amazed how the years have flown by. I started in accounting in 1992 as a bookkeeper for a third-party administrator when bookkeeping was actually done in a book. Shortly after that, I wound up in Corporate America as a staff accountant. I made a shift in 2010 to work at a CPA firm, and in 2019, I launched Xinancial to do what I love most: helping entrepreneurs, professionals, and small business owners thrive. My specialties include tax planning, tax resolution, and tax preparation, and I serve a broad range of clients, including real estate investors, property managers, estate planners, and financial advisors. What excites me most is helping clients structure their businesses, estates, and finances to support long-term success with the best tax outcome.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family. Besides tax and finance, my passion is music. I've been a musician since I was 12 years old. I play guitar and bass and some keyboards and drums. I love meeting new musicians and jamming any chance I get.
